Welcome to the UCI COEH symposium on occupational and environmental health threats. This 1 and ½ day symposium will be a chance to learn from leading experts about health and environmental hazards associated with transportation and network with others in sunny southern California!

Day 1 of our symposium will consist of a full day of presentations covering history of transportation in terms of emissions and environmental impacts, occupational health of different transportation sectors, disaster management of fuel related incidents, fuel cell research, and air pollution from non-tail pipe emissions.

Keynote speakers include nationally and internationally recognized experts, Dr. Michael Kosnett from University of Colorado School of Medicine on drug impairment and driving and Dr. Robert Orford from Mayo Clinic Scottsdale and past president of Airlines Medical Directors Association on health effects on aviation/transportation industries.

Day 2 of our symposium will be a morning session continuing on the theme of transportation-related environmental and health impacts with panels and speakers on the topics of COVID 19 risks and air pollution exposures in vehicles, impacts of port and goods movement and storage, oil spills and health impacts. Santa Ana Active Streets Coalition (SAAS) group will also share the experience of Santa Ana in promoting active transportation.
