Erika Garcia, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the USC Keck School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the role of airborne environmental contaminants in the development of human disease, applying both traditional epidemiologic as well as advanced causal inference methodologies. She has examined the healthy worker survivor effect and applied g-methods in studies of metalworking fluids and cancer outcomes in a cohort of GM autoworkers. She is currently researching the effects of early-life air pollution exposure on pediatric respiratory and metabolic health outcomes, including new-onset asthma, lung function, and obesity. Dr. Garcia received a PhD and MPH in Environmental Health Sciences from UC Berkeley.
